1. Being an Earthling

Contrary to how it might seem, being an earthling is not primarily about geekery, though an awareness and understanding of geek attitudes and behaviour is probably quite helpful for being one. Apart from the domain name, the primary focus is on social meets (pubmeets and the annual birthday dinner in London, mostly), at which conversation tends to vary wildly and is actually only rarely about techie stuff. Discussions on the main mailing list follow a similar pattern.
