Activities

We'll have a stand, it's going to look like this, and the .Org Pavillion is laid out like this.

  • Find out Layout/Tables-required from Brian Teeman

    • I can't give you an exact stand layout just yet as it is still being approved by the stand contractors. You have plenty of space - dont worry about that. Counters wil be provided but Steve's shelves may be of use

Things we have done at our stand in previous years, to help plan what stuff would be useful to bring:

  • Chat to the punters about Free software and why Debian rocks in a non-biased way.
  • Sell stuff, then give them free-beer (see: stuff to buy first)

  • Show off lots of weird (and not so weird) hardware running Debian.
  • Boast about being the biggest GNU/Linux distro to show up(!)

Also see the:

TODO

Things _you_ need TODO

Things "somebody" needs TODO

Need to arrange with John Winters (maybe also UKLinux t/a DebianShop?) to get:

  • Metric bucket-load of Binary i386 single CD sets
  • Stack of Knoppix (or Morphix?) i386 CD's
  • Smaller stack of i386 DVD's
  • Debian T-Shirts (the Phil Hands Classick, in off-white cotton ?)

  • Buy free-beer, to give away if they buy a CD (also non-alcholic ones too)

  • Get 200 CDR blanks for other Archs + Sources
  • Little "download the source here" stickers/labels for the CD's

Possibilites:

  • Flyers bragging about Debian
  • Matching Black Debian polo-shirts for everyone (see: [http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/31465.html El Reg slagging a la Debian])

  • Canvas Banner that can be rolled up and re-used for other shows (Maggie said they'd sponsor one?)

Things _me_ (Paul Sladen) needs TODO

  • Pickup the smaller signs from UKLinux in Stockport and Debianise them

Miscellaneous Questions

  • How to get exhibitors' passen?

    • Exhibitor passes should be being sent directly to me. If you need one please email me.
  • Whose mobile to ring when we get stuck?

    • Brian 07989 584668
  • Times and correct system for getting in to do Tuesday setup?

    • Ammended see above
  • Car-passes and parking arrangements? (Getting in is impossible otherwise)

    • Car park passes for setup only should be being sent directly to me. If you need one please email me.
    • Parking at rear of Olympia costs 20GBP last year and closed at 11pm on Tuesday and Thursday, but 7pm ish on the Wednesday
      • You can book advance car parking tickets for during the show with ECO Car PArks on 0800 056 8444

Accommodation

It's London, it's all expensive. Here's a vox-pop:
