DebianUK > DebianParty2014
_ _ ___ _____ _____ | \ | |/ _ \_ _| ____| The date of the party has CHANGED. It is normally on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. | \| | | | || | | _| In 2014 it is *not* that weekend due to an unfortunate clash with DebConf 14. | |\ | |_| || | | |___ Many of the Debian UK regulars are expecting to travel to Portland this year, |_| \_|\___/ |_| |_____| so we have moved the BBQ to be the *FIRST* weekend in August and *NOT* the *LAST*. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
1. People
The following people have expressed interest in attending the party in Cambridge @ Steve McIntyre's house on the 2nd to 3rd of August (Saturday 2014-08-02 → Sunday 2014-08-03):

2. Crash Space
Insert something cunning to ensure everyone has a bed here. Try this... mail the person listed and ask if you can crash. Then update the page appropriately.

about seven spaces in the house, room for tents outside if people are desperate |
ChrisBoot (crash), JonathanMcDowell (sofa bed), LarsWirzenius (little bedroom), BrettParker (somewhere floor bound), JonathanWiltshire (double room), PaulSladen (somewhere flat and linear) |

Floor space only I am afraid (+air bed) |
DavidLeggett, ChrisWalker (Apparently) |
Not walking distance |
If people need to look for B&B/hotel space, try http://www.touristnetuk.com/em/cambridge/accommodation/ac-serviced/index.asp
3. Transport
Offers of lifts. Mail the person listed, and ask if it's OK to tag along.

4. Cakes
We may persuade people to bake...
5. Schedule
Vague schedule idea based on previous years:
- Meet in a central-ish pub (The Regal) between noon and 3pm on the Saturday afternoon.
- Mass exodus to Steve's house at four o'clock.
- Supermarket trip (6pm-ish), barbeque and inebriation (all damned night)
- Dispersal to sleeping locations and sleep, then up at the crack of noon for a full cooked breakfast
Rinse and repeat
- Keysigning sometime over the weekend
6. Beer + Food
We're hoping to find lovely people and convince them to sponsor important supplies for the weekend. Please let Steve know if you'd like to help!
antibodyMX.net will be donating at least £300 of food. Additionally, find Martin on the Saturday evening and claim a year of free filtering for your personal domain, or (possibly) 6 months for your business.
Mythic Beasts will buy a firkin of beer. If Pete can make it he suggests Minotaur as he likes it, otherwise Brett Parker should choose as he's our other official representative. Anybody who's fixed a DNS resolver or NTP server from reflecting massive amounts of traffic has an immediate pass to jump the queue.
7. Locations
Pub. The Regal is a large Wetherspoons in the centre of Cambridge. (Map)
Steve's house is 87, Kendal Way, Cambridge CB4 1LP. OpenStreetMap thinks that it is here.
8. Keysigning
There will probably be a key signing thingummy...
Someone might make a matrix.
