1. Debian packaging of xfce4

This is probably really dull for anyone except SimonHuggins and to an extent DanielSilverstone.

2. Build Order

xfce4 build order with build-depends:

  • gtk2-engines-xfce - only gtk
  • libxfce4util

    • libxfcegui4

    • libxfce4mcs

      • xfce-mcs-manager

        • xfce-mcs-plugins
        • xfce4-iconbox
        • xfce4-utils
        • xfdesktop4
        • xffm4
        • xfprint4
        • xfwm4
        • xfcalendar
        • xfce4-panel

          • xfce4-mixer
          • xfce4-systray
          • xfce4-themes
          • xfce4-toys
          • xfce4-trigger-launcher

Because buildds are broken and don't check build-depends and do dep-wait stuff automagically the plan to get this into unstable is to upload in 5 stages (yes, 5 *sigh*) with the stuff in bold with urgency=high.

3. Bugs

Need to fix:

  • Hurd bits
    • well PATH_MAX depends on upstream now and they say they've fixed it.
    • The gtkhtml issue has a patch which looks fine. Fixed in new packages -- ask Kinni to upload

    • The segfaulting occurs on Linux too. Sent upstream for now.
  • The make everything use sensible-browser and other such debianisms in the xfce4rc and the menu bugs.

Never ending task: ;)

  • general triage
