I am a software engineer at Linden Lab (http://lindenlab.com) where I have been working on integrating Mono with Second Life (http://www.secondlife.com) as a next generation virtual machine for scripting, adding HTTP(S) support to the Linden Scripting Language, RESTful web services, grid defense and security systems and blogging (http://blog.secondlife.com) .
Previously I have been a Terra Nova author (http://terranova.blogs.com), developer on the Warhammer Online and Dragon Empires MMORPGs, worked with Blast Theory (http://blasttheory.co.uk) on mixed reality games and was a research fellow at the Mixed Reality Lab at Nottingham University where I contributed to the development of the MASSIVE-3 networked virtual reality platform as part of my PhD research.
In my spare time I like to play jazz and funk guitar and compose sample based electronic music (http://www.myspace.com/vanishingtrick) .
In Second Life I am Babbage Linden, just about everywhere else on the net (Yahoo, Flickr, GMail, MSN, AIM, Skype, YouTube, Last.fm ...) I am JimPurbrick.
