Meet on 3rd April 2002
There were about 15 to 20 of us in the Wetherspoons on St. James's Street. The occasion was made all the more auspicious by it being Simon Amor's birthday
Discussions
These are some of the discussions which revolved around GNU/Linux (as opposed to the quality of beer ;-))
If you were involved in a discussion that's not listed here but is interesting then just edit the page and list it
- One of the Mikes (sorry don't know which one, FIXME if you do) said he was seriously involved in the testing efforts for GNOME 2 and was impressed how well it ran on his K6 500, with 128 Mb RAM (IIRC).
- Host Europe née Webfusion and goodness knows what else turned up in force and it was great to have this influx of people.
- Some implications of wireless networking were discussed after Lee's post to the mailing list. I think general feeling was that wireless sounds quite a cool technology but that the security aspects need to be explored more fully. There was some talk of setting something up in Nottingham but this hasn't come to much yet.
Did I miss stuff? Add it then!
